17 April 2023 · By Ana Navarrina

Fellow Bdoers, passing bouncers and loyal readers of this blog: we have great news. I'm excited to introduce our new VP of Sales at Bdeo, Daniele Colaiacomo.

Daniele is from Italy and holds a degree in Telecommunication Engineering. He has over 20 years of international experience in General Management and Regional Sales Management roles, mainly in the P&C and Automotive Insurance industries. He's previously worked at Tractable, where he was Regional Director, and Solera, where he was Managing Director and Board Member.

Daniele Colaiacomo: new VP of Sales at Bdeo

We recently had the opportunity to sit down with Daniele and ask him a few questions about his new role at Bdeo, his goals, and his thoughts on the insurance industry. Here's what he had to say.

Why do you think now is the time to work for the tech/insurance sector?

Due to the global economic situation we all are aware of, the Insurance market is the kind of market that still needs to gain more operational efficiency, to be digitalized and innovated. Technology, and especially AI, can make a difference in offering a digital and better customer experience to policyholders.

Why did you decide to join Bdeo out of all the insurtech companies?

Bdeo has the capabilities, passion, and distinctive core values that I love to see in a company. These qualities are pivotal in disrupting the market.

What are your goals for Bdeo as VP of Sales?

As VP of Sales in Bdeo, my main goal is to take the company to the next level, one that it absolutely deserves!

Tell us a bit more about yourself.

I am married with three daughters. I'm an avid hiker, passionate about skiing, cooking, and wine tasting.

What do you think has been the most significant change in the insurance industry in the last year?

Over the past year, I have seen that the Insurance industry has shifted its focus towards taking the most from AI. Combining the efficiency of AI with human intervention is the challenge that Bdeo is currently tackling for prospects and customers in the underwriting and claims management areas. I'd definitely say automation in general and AI, in particular, have been significant changes in the industry.

Throughout your career, what has been the most disruptive technological moment you have experienced?

I have worked with many innovative companies, but I believe we all agree that AI is the most disruptive technology we've ever seen.

In your opinion, why is it essential for insurers to adopt Visual Intelligence in their processes?

Visual Intelligence can significantly speed up the cycle time, bring efficiency, and allow people to focus on the most valuable tasks instead of the repetitive ones.

What would you say to someone who is wary of the real benefit that AI can bring to their processes?

Adopting AI, like any other new technology, requires process change, and it's natural to face initial resistance. The approach we have in Bdeo is to demonstrate the value and benefits that a certain company can achieve over the years. Building together a journey that will bring the company to a massive use of our technology combined with their internal capabilities.

What are you most looking forward to in your adventure at Bdeo?

I see significant potential in Bdeo in some markets, such as Europe and Latin America, for example. So, I want to see the company literally leading these areas.

We're thrilled to have Daniele on board as part of our team at Bdeo. We're confident that his experience and expertise will help drive our company to even greater heights. Stay tuned for more!
