Ruth Puente, COO of Bdeo, named Top Women Insurtech Leader by Acord and Alchemy Crew
14 December 2022 · By Ana Navarrina
If you work in the insurance sector, pay attention to this list. The Top Insurtech Leaders, curated each year by Acord together with Alchemy Crew and co-founder Sabine VanderLinden recognises professionals who are leading innovation in the insurance industry through technology.
The list rewards their unique vision, execution and results.
This year 2022, the list stands out once again, with a little twist: they wanted to dedicate the list exclusively to women who are leading the insurance technology industry.
Recently, a groundbreaking report by Congress in the US has shown worrying levels of disparity between men and women in the sector. Therefore, it is more important than ever to honour the invaluable contributions of women in the insurance industry.
Since the release of the 2022 list, Bdoers are celebrating. Our COO, Ruth Puente, has been named Top Insurtech Leader. This recognition for Ruth and our female talent, with international impact, is a dream for a team like ours.
What qualities have the colleagues at Acord and Alchemy Crew valued in order to grant this recognition? Let's take a look at them.
Qualities to be part of Top Insurtech Leaders 2022
Collaboration and cooperation
Teamwork and collaboration are fundamental for an insurtech to have the strength to transform a sector.
Leaders who make it to this list realise that transformative and sustainable innovation will only happen if collaboration between all types of players in the industry is encouraged.
It is essential to share perspectives and to achieve cohesion between the strategic needs of the sector and the technology that is developed to meet them.
Sustainability and inclusion
The insurance industry continues to undergo a digital transformation. Insurers need to find ways to drive change and be part of it, so that they can ensure better care for their policyholders in the present and near future.
Industry leaders, through these technological advances, are also helping to make the industry more accessible and equitable. They are also reinventing traditional processes to make them greener and more sustainable.
Global ecosystem builders
Three accelerators are setting a new pace in the transformation of the insurance industry: robust networks, interconnected systems and global digitalisation.
Those conscious leaders capable of ensuring these are the future of the industry and will even impact beyond it, reaching out to new and diverse sources of expertise and knowledge.
The value of our COO
Ruth joined Bdeo in 2019, in charge of coordinating the company's processes and operations as COO. Since then, she has been part of the company's DNA.
Her experience in the digital and tech world, in the operations team of different startups and companies, is of undeniable value to Bdeo.
But his greatest victory at Bdeo has been to design a unique and differential culture in the international entrepreneurial sector, establishing transparent and solid values and installing practices for employee satisfaction, with tools such as Nailted. As a result, we know that 9 out of 10 employees would recommend Bdeo to a friend as a place to work.
On behalf of all the women who make up Bdeo (one of them writing these lines): thank you Ruth for representing us and giving visibility to female talent!
